Early this morning I took our son, Brian to the airport to fly back to Georgia. It was very hard seeing him say goodbye to Gary last night. As he was waiting to check in, our daughter, Becky, along with Gary's brother, John and his wife, Tracy arrived in town after driving for over 10 hours overnight. They met at the airport so Becky could see and hug her brother. I was glad for the distraction because it was going to be hard to say goodbye to Brian. I enjoyed having him here this week with me. Becky brought our van along with more clothes and my little dog, Charlie. We went to the hospital this morning to greet Gary before getting breakfast. Good news! Gary's MTX was .16 and his CR was 2.4. The doctors said that if those levels continued to go down tomorrow, then he probably could go home. Not sure when the next treatment will start, but Gary was encouraged at the thought of getting out of the hospital. He has lost more weight (the extra fluids) but has been nauseous all day so has not wanted to eat. They give him a drug for the nausea and it just puts him out completely. Tonight has been enjoyable with John, Tracy and Becky. They have kept me laughing and distracted. Just what I needed. Again.... thank you so much for your prayers!
Hi!
ReplyDeleteIt breaks my heart to know about the condition of sir Gary. I just knew it from a post at friendster. Well, as far as I could remember in my early days at LUBBA while i was still a student then, he is a very kind, generous and man of principles. He is very encouraging and considerate too. Seeing you and the rest of the family strong in coping with this...i think it's real strength from where it came from.
Ive also read from the blog of his development & i thank God for it.
And i guess...i'll keep reading for the next days to come.
I'll be praying for sir Gary and your family, but thank you too for being a blessing! have a nice day.
Excited about the good report today! Praise the Lord!! It is obvious you have touched lives over the years and now they are watching what will happen in the days to come. The valley can be a sweet place to learn and to grow and to just cuddle with our Heavenly Father while He slowly walks us to the mountaintop eventually!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear of Gary's improvement! We will keep on praying for his healing and strength and for your courage and strength as well. Your blog is wonderful, don't know how you do it.
ReplyDeleteLove and prayers
Actually its been 11 years i think since the last time i saw sir Gary and your family at LUBBA. He is a good reminder of faithfulness.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, he looks cool with those sun glasses huh.
Maam Jeanie, you are great!
